Olomouc by train: Pevnost poznání science centre and the zoo
From the main station by tram towards the centre (e.g. lines 1 and 7, 2 stops to Envelopa, then 550 m) or 2 km on foot along the Morava to the Pevnost poznání science centre in the Korunní pevnůstka fort (4 exhibitions and a planetarium, 2–3 h, wheelchair accessible, café); through Bezručovy sady park below the walls 1 km to Horní náměstí – the astronomical clock (figures only at noon), the Holy Trinity Column (UNESCO), fountains and patisseries; by tram from Koruna back to the station or on foot
In the morning bus 11 from the main railway station (every 15 min, 18 min ride) to the stop Svatý Kopeček, ZOO and 600 m to the ticket office; the zoo is on a slope (safari train, Lanáček rope park, about 3 km of walking), then 1 km to the pilgrimage Basilica of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary with a view of the Haná region; bus 11 (stop Svatý Kopeček, bazilika) back to the station and in the afternoon Pevnost poznání with Horní náměstí as in the shorter variant; train home with a change in Šumperk

Tips
- Astronomical clock at noon – The figures of the Olomouc astronomical clock move only at 12:00 – plan Horní náměstí for noon and the Pevnost poznání before or after (closed on Mondays outside the school holidays).
- Bus 11 with no waiting – Bus no. 11 runs to Svatý Kopeček from the main station (stand D) every 15 minutes and the ride takes 18 minutes; for the way back board at the Svatý Kopeček, bazilika stop.
