Exterior
The cottage is surrounded on all sides by greenery and complete quiet. You can take in the views from the house, from the terrace and from any of the seating spots around the garden.
You can park right by the cottage, so unloading your luggage is easy.
The exceptional privacy here does not come at the price of being cut off. A comfortable ten-minute walk brings you to a good choice of modern restaurants, playgrounds and shops. Loučná nad Desnou is a remarkably well-equipped village.

The cottage has stood here for a hundred years – we simply lightened its heavy stone walls with a row of windows and an open split-level space. The ground floor has underfloor heating, though nothing beats lighting the fireplace in the evening. The kitchen is fully equipped: dishwasher, Nespresso machine, toaster, fridge, microwave, oven, pots, tableware and more.
On the ground floor there is a bedroom with a double bed, made up with fresh linen and towels. The bathroom can be reached both directly from this bedroom and from the hallway. In case you forgot something in your washbag, there is a small “just in case” basket of toiletries. Upstairs is a second bedroom with up to four single beds, which can be stacked to free up more space. If children are sleeping upstairs, a safety gate on the stairs can be closed so no one wanders down alone.
The living room opens onto a terrace with a table and six cushioned chairs. Cushions for the large garden swing are here too. The shed holds everything you need for a fire and for grilling, plus plenty of room for bikes and skis.

The garden runs all the way up to the forest, and each terrace level offers a slightly different view. For morning coffee we placed a bench right at the very top, where the sunrise between the mountains is at its most beautiful. In the far corner there is a cushioned swing seat. And when you sit by the fire pit in the evening, you look down on the lights of Loučná nad Desnou below.
Yet the exceptional privacy here does not mean leaving civilisation behind. A comfortable ten-minute walk brings you to a good choice of modern restaurants, playgrounds and shops. Loučná nad Desnou is a remarkably well-equipped village.

Down in the village below the cottage you will find three characterful restaurants, a train to take you on day trips, and an enormous playground with a café and attractions for every age.
The village values its visitors and puts on a cultural programme, so it is worth checking the municipal website before you arrive. At the cottage we also keep a printed booklet listing activities in the village and the surrounding area.

The booking system also calculates and includes the local tourist tax of CZK 35 per adult per night.
The only extras are a bag of charcoal for the grill and long-life groceries from our little “minibar”, both at supermarket prices, in case you left something at home.

As part of the post-flood recovery of the Jeseníky region, the ministry subsidised stays between 15 September and 30 November 2025.
A discount of CZK 300 per person per night was available.
For six people staying seven nights, that came to CZK 12,600.

Loučná nad Desnou is an excellent base for skiers
– there are several ski areas nearby:

And if you prefer cross-country skiing, try the trails around Dlouhé Stráně or the legendary ridge route near Praděd and Švýcárna.
