Nová Ves lookout tower near Rýmařov
By car up the hairpin bends from Nová Ves to the car park by the lookout tower (845 m); climb to the gallery (160 steps, views of the Hrubý Jeseník ridge with Velký kotel, Uhlířský vrch and the Slezská Harta reservoir), a playground and the Na Vyhlídce hut below the tower; then a short walk along the yellow-marked trail west over Sutě hill (forest road, OK with an all-terrain pushchair) and back the same way
From the lookout tower along the yellow-marked trail to the Jelení trail junction (1.7 km), along the blue-marked trail to Mravencovka and along the green-marked trail via the Pod Kloboukem junction down to Karlov pod Pradědem (restaurant, starting point of the Velká kotlina nature trail); back from the Karlov junction along the yellow-marked trail via Nad Karlovem with a gentle climb to the lookout tower; fit walkers can branch off from Mravencovka along the green-marked trail to the former Alfrédka hut (1 078 m, +5 km there and back)

Tips
- On foot from Nová Ves – If you'd rather skip the hairpin bends by car, park down in Nová Ves and walk up the yellow-marked trail to the lookout tower – 2 km and 170 m of ascent, about 45 minutes with children.
- Call a day ahead – Outside the school holidays the lookout tower is usually open only at weekends; on weekdays you can arrange a visit on tel. 604 712 992, cash only.
- Opening hours – outside the holidays Sat–Sun (approx. 11–16/18), during the summer holidays daily / Wed–Sun; by phone booking the day before
- Admission – symbolic 20–40 Kč, cash
