Tips
- Caution – In August–October 2024 the red and green trails above the waterfalls were closed for the felling of 400 dangerous trees (access from Fialův mlýn remained); since July 2024/2025 new wooden footbridges and steps, the long stairs above the upper waterfall replaced – in summer 2025 both routes open without restriction (Olomoucký deník, 29 Jul 2025). No closure found for 2026.
- Uphill on the way back – The path from Rešov descends a steep, rocky slope that you'll have to climb back up at the end – with small children, save some energy for the return.
- Slippery footbridges – The wooden footbridges and ladders are slippery even when dry; after rain go slowly and keep children and dogs close (dog on a lead).
- Best in spring and after rain – The waterfalls carry the most water during the thaw and after rain; in a dry summer they are weaker, but at weekends up to 800 people pass through the gorge – better on a weekday.
- Combine with Sovinec Castle – Sovinec Castle is 9 km along the red-marked trail or 15 min by car – for a full day combine the waterfalls in the morning with the castle in the afternoon (see the hrad-sovinec trip).
- Season – April–November (impassable when icy).
- Admission – free; current visitor numbers (counters) at online.jeseniky.cz
- Parking – free at the restaurant in Rešov (few spaces); another area past the bend towards Rýmařov
- Restrictions – National nature reserve (since 2013, 71.6 ha) – marked trails only; no bikes, pushchairs or balance bikes; wet stones and footbridges are slippery
- Good to know – 1.5 km from the car park in Rešov, uphill on the way back; steps and footbridges – no pushchairs
