Kolštejn Castle and Chateau, Branná

From Branná railway station along the blue/yellow-marked trail 1 km into the little town to Kolštejn chateau (tours at 10 and 14 h) and the square with a patisserie; then the loop of the Pod ptačí planinou nature trail (green): from the square down to the Mariánský pramen spring, along the Branná river below the rock walls to the railway viaduct and the Banjaluka gamekeeper's lodge, back along the yellow-marked forest road along the railway line to the station. With a pushchair only the station – chateau section (road); the forest part is a footpath.

Tips

• Time your tour – Guided tours of the chateau start Tue–Sun at 10 and 14 h – plan your loop so that you are at the chateau on time; the chateau has a restaurant with a café, on the square there is the Wellness hotel Kolštejn with a microbrewery and (in season) a confectionery with butter-cream cones.
• Mariánský pramen – Below the square rises the Mariánský pramen spring (a constant 8.7 °C, mugs for drinking) – an old pilgrimage site where a wooden church once stood; both nature trails start here.
• Admission – adults 150 Kč, seniors and disabled 120 Kč, children 60 Kč, children under 10 free (2026)
